Morning Coffee…

“Let not your hearts be troubled.
Believe in God; believe also in me.
In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
John 14:1-3

Morning Coffee…

At that time Jesus declared,

“I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding
and revealed them to little children;
yes, Father, for such was your gracious will.

All things have been handed over to me by my Father,
and no one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father
except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me,
for I am gentle and lowly in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:25-30

Here is a photo journal of some of our recent Christmas happenings…We have our own little Christmas tree field – truly. Al has transplanted tons of trees and this particular tree was transplanted 10 years ago before we even started having these kiddos. It is really a perfect tree this year. Our patience was rewarded!

After my ‘Guns in Church’ post and the response via blog and email, we’ve rethought our position and now everyone in the house is either armed or armoured… (just kidding!)

This fun armour present was opened early on and was a real winner. (Thanks to Aunt Patty and Uncle Corey).

Here are some matching gifts opened late in the process. I love how they’re both holding their boxes upside-down!

And I was shocked when I began this post to notice that it is my 301st post. Crazy. That can’t be right – there must be some posts in edit-land somewhere that I never published. Lately, I’m working to get even one ‘fluff’ post up a week.

Ezra update

More pictures of Ezra – taken by a family who is in Ethiopia now to bring home their daughter. They even took video which they will send when they return. The family says that Ezra is a very happy baby and well loved and taken care of. While the pictures make me long to hold him, it is good to know that he is happy and healthy at the orphanage in the meantime.

Ruth singing – again :)

Here is a video of Ruth singing Away in a Manger at the homeschool music ‘recital’ where each of the kids who attend had an opportunity to share something. (Sorry that the video is sideways) All of the kids did a wonderful job and it was a blessing to hear them perform what they had prepared. Some quoted scripture passages, some played piano, one sweet girl played a penny-whistle, one young man played a trumpet solo, one creative guy displayed his art and Ruth sang one verse of “Away in a Manger”.

Morning Coffee…

“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever!
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble
and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south.”

Psalm 107:1-3

Morning Coffee…

“May all who seek you

rejoice and be glad in you!
May those who love your salvation
say evermore, “God is great!”
